Great Green Elekk

Yes, I finally hit level 60 and with it the possibility to purchase my new level 60 mount, the Great Elekk. Apart of the fact that it looks even cooler than my old one (yes that is possible :P) it also gives me a 100% speed boost instead of the 60% boost from all level 40 mounts. First I’m gonna show you an overview of the other level 60 mounts. After that you’ll see me hitting level 60 and getting my new mount, a Great Green Elekk.

Mounts

Finally, I got my beloved mount :-)! I’ve been waiting so long to finally reach level 40 in order to be allowed to obtain a mount. That’s why I’m now as happy as a little child on christmas eve :P! There are certain restrictions before obtaining a mount.

  • You need to be level 40 or above
  • You need to have enough money (riding skill = 90g + mount = 10g; without any reputation discounts)
  • If you wanna get a mount from a different race, you need to gain a certain reputation level with them before buying a mount (Revered)
  • You can only buy a mount from your side of the fraction, so Alliance members can’t buy any Horde mounts and vice versa
  • Paladins and Warlocks need to complete a quest to get their mounts (but don’t need to pay anything for them… lucky bastards :P)

Before I show you my mighty Elekk, I wanna show you the other mounts first.

Instance: Uldaman

Finally, it’s time for another instance again :-). This time I went to the level 36 - 44 instance Uldaman in Badlands. The actual instance itself wasn’t that great but the drops and particularly the bosses were really cool! Just in case you’re wondering, the video shows me in two different groups on two different days. The first minute or so contains a rather not-teamwork-like group while the rest of the video shows me in a very effective group… at least in the end. In the second group we’ve been five people at first but one seemed to be a bit immature and decided to aggro as many mobs as humanly possible ;-). After one member of my group had a “little talk” with him about his behavior the guy decided to leave us in middle of the instance. Well, we were there already so we decided to continue without him… which proved to be a very wise decision. From then on the group has been a blast and we even succeeded in killing the last super-hyper-mega-boss :P! I also got some new, cool equipment which might - in some cases - not be the most fitting warrior stuff but firstly was it better than my previous equipment and secondly was nobody there who could have used it better. I got Ironaya’s Bracers of the EagleRevelosh’s Boots of Defense, Cragfists of the Bear and Field Plate Helmet of the Bear :-)! So you might say that I’ve been quite successful whenit comes to drops this evening :P.

Friend or Foe?

Yesterday I was doing a quest to get some new piece of equipment for my tank. The Rustproof Waistguard is definately not the best item out there but my previous piece was a lot worse ;-). Anyway, I went to Dustwallow Marsh in order to talk to Moxie Steelgrille to get the quest Corrosion Prevention. Here comes the thing, so far I was under the impression that the Horde and the Alliance were grim enemies (which I don’t really care about) but now I gotta help an Orc Female to get her stuff back?! Isn’t that odd? Of course I did the quest anyway and got my new equipment as my reward.

While doing the quest I also defeated a Tauren Druid player (which has been two levels higher than me) in a duell :P. He seemed pretty surprised to see that a tank actually won this fight^^! But even though he lost he showed honor and bowed before me, which is a cool gesture in my opinion.

World of (money) Limits

Riipa just send me a link to a screenshot about a guy who reached the financial limit in gold a character can possess in WoW. Interesting that there actually is a limit… even though I will most likely never reach it anyway :-). Unfortunately the screenshot, or more precisely the dialogue in it, is in German. This guy asked a GM whether the money limit is a bug or a feature. It’s not a bug, so at about 215k gold it’s no use any longer to save money folks :P!

Instance: Razorfen Kraul

I’m finally able to present you one of my best and most enjoyed events so far, the level 23-31 instance Razorfen Kraul. Actually this video was supposed to be only two days ago but YouTube’s limit regulations are quite strict. Even though my video didn’t exceed the 100 MB, it did however surpassed the 10 min. limit :-(. Therefore I was forced to cut this masterpiece (a brutal act of unnecessary violance I’d never have done otherwise :P) into two videos to be able to upload them to YouTube :D.

Best about this instance for me was the Tusken Helm, which dropped from one of the mobs. Shortly before that I was thinking about buying a helm at the AH. Thank God I didn’t! This way I can save the money for my beloved mount, the mighty Elekk ;-)! So enough talk, enjoy the two videos now!

Instance: Shadowfang Keep

I finally did it, my first instance in WoW :-)!

Actually all happended totally by accident. I was just doing some quest somewhere in Ashenvale when someone whispered me whether I’d like to join their group for the instance SK. Well, I had no idea what SK meant, but I was really looking forward to finally do my first instance ;-). I just ask about the lvl to avoid bearding the lion in his den and off I went. Once I was there I learned that SK stood for Shadowfang Keep, a lvl 17-25 instance in Silverpine Forest in the Eastern Kingdoms… so it couldn’t be any further from my current position in Ashenvale :-). Luckily WoW also thought about this. Once you got at least two group members at an instance, they have the option to summon you directly there, no matter where you are. Really cool feature in my opinion!

In the video you can see me struggling to keep my threat lvl higher than everone else’s (thank god for Omen’s Threat Meter)… remember, it’s my first instance ;-). But without sounding too cocky, I think I managed rather well *proud*. What I liked most about this instance, apart of the XP of course, was its drops. I got a Baron’s Scepter, Laced Mail Shoulderpads as well as a Defender Cloak of Defensive :P! So enough talk, now it’s time for the video… enjoy!
