Instance: Ahn’kahet (The Old Kingdom)

Once you’re done with the level 72-74 instance Azjol-Nerub you can continue straight on with the level 73-75 instance Ahn’kahet (The Old Kingdom) right next to it. This is just what my guild members and I did and in there you can also get a great tank chest drop called Battlechest of the Twilight Cult from the third boss Jedoga Shadowseeker. So for warrior tanks it’s even more worth it to visit this instance as soon as possible :-) .

Instance: Azjol-Nerub

Everyone who knows me should also know by now that I just love instances where everything looks rather organic :-) . The level 72-74 instance Azjol-Nerub is just one of those dungeons. It’s really cool looking and in my opinion pretty hard. I know I know, lots of people will now immediately say: “ah you noob, I soloed this instance with my level 25 priest” or whatever but for me this instance was the hardest in Northrend so far. Of course that doesn’t mean that it’s any less fun. In fact I went there quite often already and am looking forward to the heroic mode ;-) .

Borean Tundra Impressions

The level 68-72 zone Borean Tundra is actually meant to be the starting point for all alliance members but I rather wanted to start in the Fjord… even though this is considered to be the horde starting zone. While the Fjord is more beautiful in my opinion, the Tundra offers more interesting quests. In both starting zones you’ll get an archivement when you successfully finish 130 quests. I’d definitely recommend to spend some quality time in the Tundra to quest and explore this great and very interesting zone.

Instance: Nexus

One of the first instances you’re gonna visit – once you’re in Northrend – is most likely the level 71-73 instance Nexus in the Borean Tundra. While it’s pretty cool and space-like looking I personally prefer the more organic looking instances :-) . Unfortunately no boss or trash-mob in there drops any real interesting protection-warrior item :-( . The only more or less interesting drop comes from the last boss Keristrasza, Shoulderplates of the Beholder. The stamina and the socket is cool but like I said, it’s no real tank drop.

It’s Christmas time!

People all over the world are already in Christmas mood or at least most likely getting there. Even in the World of Warcraft can you feel the Christmas spirit rising… :-)

Bush Shoe-Attack

I guess most of you guys have seen the video already where the current president of the United States, George W. Bush, gets attacked by a reporter’s shoe. I’ve got pointed to an animated GIF in the Internet which shows this szene from a quite different perspective :D .

The Art of Persuasion

If you already completed all quests in the Borean Tundra you most likely noticed one quest in particular. When accepting The Art of Persuasion the NPC Librarian Normantis on Amber Ledge wants you to interrogate a prisoner in order to learn the location of Lady Evanor.

This quest caused quite a fuss in some forums, e.g. the official European WoW-Forum. Lots of people were shocked that Blizzard suddenly seems to encourage their players to torture other people in the game. To be honest I totally don’t understand these arguments. Everybody should see that this quest is merely an ironic attempt to mock the US government because of Guantanamo Bay! Those guys can’t seriously believe that BLizzard isn’t doing all that on purpose. In the worst case just don’t accept the quest and move on to another one if you really don’t wanna do anything like this… you won’t miss an incredible quest-reward anyway.

In my opinion some people out there take everything just too seriously and should first think before they spam false accusations in every available forum.

Normal Flying Mounts

I’m actually having my normal flying mount already since I first reached level 70 but until now I’ve always forgotten to publish a post about it on my blog :-) . A recent comment reminded though (thanks paldin :-) ) and now I wanna make up for it ;-) .

Once you reached level 70, you can obtain your very own normal flying mount in Wildhammer Stronghold (Alliance) or in Shadowmoon Village (Horde) in the zone Shadowmoon Valley in the Outland. I just hope you saved some gold before you’re attemping to get one :P . While the flying mount itself is pretty cheap (100g) the Expert Riding Skill costs you 800g! Yes, you read correctly :-) : 800g in order to be able to fly within the Outland… and the Outland only! You won’t be able to use your flying mount in the old territories such as Kalimdor or the Eastern Kingdoms… just that you know.

Both Alliance and Orc Druids have the advantage of being able to learn how to fly already at level 68 for just 7g at their trainer. Once learned they can transform themselves instantly into flying mounts and have no need for a separate mount (100g) nor the Expert Riding Skill (800g). Yeah I know sounds pretty fair, doesn’t it :P ?

Howling Fjord impressions

Just wanted to post a few impressions of my first completed zone the Howling Fjord (level 68-72). From a graphics point of view I really liked this zone and enjoyed my time there but I must say that the quests are more engaging in the Borean Tundra, where I’m currently at. Once you competed 130 quests in the Fjord you get an archivement by the way.
